Sales and Account Manager

This new position will provide extra sales & account bandwidth as ISL expands its product and services portfolio. The role supports the activities of the UK Sales Director and Director of Client Services. The primary focus is the UK local authority sector, but there are future sales & account opportunities outside of this sector.

Hours: Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours | A hybrid role based out of ISL head office in Chapel Allerton, Leeds | Travel will be required

Duties

Duties:

  • Management of select accounts
    • Ensure annual revenue from existing software subscriptions
    • Deliver additional revenue from sale of professional service days and/or new software products
  • Win new business
    • Through the completion of local authority tender responses
    • Through the qualification of sales leads, creation of sales proposals and subsequent closing of deals
    • Through sector specific marketing activity including networking & event attendance
  • Report on client/prospect software & consultancy requirements
    • Relay feedback and intel into internal marketing & product development processes

Reporting to

  • Managing Director
    • Working closely with UK New Business Sales Director and Director of Client Services.

And working closely with

  • Products team
  • Finance team
  • Marketing team
Requirements

Requirements:

Essential

  • Work experience: 5+ years working in the UK local authority sector either as a local government employee or for a supplier to local government
  • Bid writing/tender response experience and proven skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Experience working within a distributed team
  • Good working knowledge of public sector procurement processes
  • Understanding of latest public sector polices and initiatives
  • Computer literate with extensive experience of:
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel

Desirable

  • Work experience: Preferably within waste & recycling collections and/or street cleansing and/or winter maintenance operations
  • Training in tender response writing/bid writing
  • Training in negotiation skills
  • Training in consultative selling techniques
  • Relevant industry qualifications
    • Environmental Services
    • Local Government
  • User of desktop and mobile software applications related to waste & recycling and/or route optimisation
  • Experience in the application of AI, specifically ChatGPT and/or Copilot, to internal sales & marketing processes
  • Full UK driving Licence

Software Tester

The Software Tester will join the team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Integrated Skills’ suite of software solutions through a combination of manual and automated testing. The position involves executing both functional and non-functional testing across mobile and backend platforms, including real world drive testing and in office system validation.

Hours: Hours: Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours | A hybrid role based out of ISL head office in Chapel Allerton, Leeds | Occasional travel will be required.

Duties:

A key focus of the role is transitioning existing manual test processes into scalable automated frameworks, using tools such as Playwright to improve efficiency, coverage and consistency of testing.

Working closely with the software development team and the product management team, the successful candidate will contribute to enhancing overall testing practices and product quality. They will be responsible for maintaining test documentation, scripts and repositories, while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.

The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams and adapting to both field based and office based testing environments, supported by ISTQB certification and experience in automated testing

Key Duties:

  • Transition manual test processes to automated frameworks (e.g. Playwright) and expand automated test coverage
  • Execute and maintain functional and non-functional test cases for in-cab navigation (drive testing) and back-office systems
  • Maintain and update test documentation, test repositories and automation scripts
  • Mentor and upskill product and development teams in testing best practices and automation design
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve overall testing practices and product quality
  • Work with colleagues to define appropriate acceptance criteria for testing
Requirements

Requirements:

Essential:

  • ISTQB certification (Foundation or Advanced level) or BSc Software Testing certifications
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g. Playwright or similar frameworks)
  • Proven experience in manual and automated testing methodologies
  • Strong test design skills: test case design and test coverage mapping
  • Well organised with good people and project management skills, initiative, good staff communication skills
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. Qase, Jira), version control systems and maintaining test scripts
  • ISL develops vehicle-based software solutions and therefore applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence preferably with access to their own car

Desirable:

  • Python, Playwright (or similar), TypeScript, Postman
  • Prior experience migrating large manual regression repositories to automation
  • Programming ability, CI/CD familiarity
  • Problem solving
  • Confident in mentoring testers
  • Understanding of mobile application testing and backend system validation

  • Adaptability to both field-based and office-based testing environments
