Mike is a civil engineer with extensive experience in directing and managing multi-disciplinary studies in all aspects of waste management, both in the UK and overseas.

His waste management experience spans more than 30 years with three leading consultancy practices. His career has to date taken him to fifteen countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle and Far East. His interests in sustainable waste management in developing countries led him to co-author a World Bank guidance document to planning, design and operation of solid waste landfills in middle- and low-income countries.

In the UK his project management skills have been succesfully applied to the development of waste strategies for, and providing technical advice to waste disposal authorities on the procurement of interim and long-term waste management facilities.
