Bernard Rigg, CEnv, MCIWM, AIEMA - Associate
Bernard Rigg is an environmental manager with strong communication and analytical skills, plus extensive knowledge and experience of management systems, auditing, regulatory compliance, pollution prevention and waste management. His key skills are auditing environmental management systems, designing and implementing health, safety and environmental management systems, and developing and conducting presentations and training programmes.
Bernard previously worked as the Environmental Management Systems Lead Assessor for Lloyds Register Quality Assurance in the UK, where he carried out ISO14001 certification assessments for clients in a wide range of industries, and advised clients on potential options for improving their environmental performance and management systems.
Previous to that, Bernard worked for M. B. Technology in Malaysia as the Regional Clinical Waste Manager, where he managed the implementation of a modern waste management service for 20 government hospitals in the state of Sabah. He also designed and implemented management systems in order to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with environmental legislation, trained medical staff on the management of clinical waste and advised the Ministry of Health, Department of the Environment and contractors on best practice in safety and environmental management.
Bernard Rigg has also worked for the Environment Agency and London Waste Regulation Authority, where his work has included devising and implementing a risk assessment scheme and a quality assurance scheme for site inspections, and licensing and inspecting waste management facilities and providing regulatory guidance to waste brokers, carriers and producers.
