Paul Dax is an economist with over 30 years diverse experience in economic and environmental policy analysis, and project design, appraisal, financing and management. Prior to becoming a consultant, he held senior positions with the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID). Fluent in German and Hungarian as well as English, Paul has extensive experience of the needs and challenges of transition economies in Central and Eastern Europe. His particular expertise includes economic and sectoral policy analyses, investment appraisal and promotion (particularly with regard to public-private partnerships in solid waste management), preparation of business and financial plans, preparation of tender documents and bid evaluation, environmental policy formulation and the application of economic instruments to support environmental policy objectives.
