Mike Skinner, BSc, CChem - Associate
Michael Skinner is a chemist with 30 years experience as a water quality regulator with a UK water authority and also in the Oman. He became a consultant 12 years ago and during this time has been project manager or team member on a wide range of projects relating to solid waste management, environmental audit, EIA and water pollution control, in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Mexico.
Major waste management projects on which he has been Team Leader or a key specialist are:
- Support for environmental assessment and management, Egypt 1994-5 (ODA).
- Strategy for the treatment and disposal of solid wastes in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, 1996-1998.
- Sewage Sludge Reuse and Disposal, Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Environment, Sultanate of Oman (2001 – 2002).
- Assistance to two municipalities in Bulgaria to enable them to comply with EU waste management standards (2000 – 2002).
- Preparation of ISPA Application for the Telsiai Regional Waste Management System Development, Lithuania (2003).
- Preparation of the Tender Dossier for implementation of the Duna-Tisza Regional Waste Management Programme, Hungary (2002 – 2003).
- Implementation of the Solid Waste Management Programme in Kraków, Poland (on-going).
