Robert Vogel, BSc, MCIWM – Associate
Roberto Vogel is a mechanical engineer who worked for a major waste manufacturer of Waste-to-Energy plants before entering the field of consultancy nine years ago. He thus has not only technical but also extensive practical experience of Waste-to-Energy technologies. He has carried out work in the field of project management, commissioning and training on a large number of waste-to-energy projects across Europe. He has also acted as an expert witness on dioxin emissions from incineration and has undertaken projects on air emissions and sludge drying.
Prior to this, Von Roll of Switzerland employed him on the erection and commissioning of large waste incineration plants, incorporating advanced gas cleaning equipment, in several European countries. In addition he was involved in research and development work on dioxins, and the co-firing of car shredder waste with municipal refuse. Before joining Von Roll he undertook research work on vaccine conservation with the World Health Organisation in Geneva.
He recently acted as the key specialist on a team that developed and tested a ‘low-cost’ municipal solid waste incinerator for use in developing countries.
