Juraj Farkaš, Dipl. Eng – Manager, Central and Eastern Europe
Juraj Farkaš is a chemical engineer qualified in wastewater treatment and environmental science. He has extensive experience of waste management in the Slovak Republic, having worked as a waste officer with the Ministry of Environment, where he was responsible for the introduction of waste management legislation and the implementation of the Basel Convention amongst other duties, before commencing a career as a consultant.
He has since advised several international agencies on waste management projects in Slovakia and is currently the resident project manager for the development of a hazardous waste management system for Azerbaijan. His relationship with the company, however, goes back to 1992, when he was a counterpart within the Slovak Ministry of Environment during the development of an integrated waste management strategy. He speaks fluent Russian as well as English and German.
