James Holt is a GIS specialist, having dual qualifications in geology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). James has a thorough knowledge of the principal GIS software applications, in addition to other specialised remote sensing and data interoperability programs. He is responsible for the growth and development of GIS at Integrated Skills, and has 7 years experience in applying GIS as an analysis tool to a number of multi-disciplinary projects including waste facility site selection, gas pipeline routing, mineral exploration, wind farm design, environmental impact assessments, and waste collection route optimisation. Customisation of GIS is another of James's skills, ranging from the production of short scripts and utilities, to integration using a range of programming languages.
James is ISL's technical co-ordinator for RouteSmart™, a GIS-based route optimisation software that is used to design balanced and optimised routes for the collection of commercial and residential waste streams, street cleansing, and snow ploughing/gritting.
